The Hayward 1/4" Check Valve (CAX-20255) allows water or air to flow through it in one direction only, preventing backflow that could potentially damage equipment or disrupt the system.

• One-Way Flow Mechanism: Inside the check valve, is a small, spring-loaded mechanism or a disc that opens when water flows in the correct direction. When the flow stops or reverses, it immediately closes, blocking any reverse flow.
• Backflow Prevention: In pool systems, preventing backflow is essential for protecting sensitive components such as pH and ORP sensors or chemical injectors.
• Automatic Operation: The check valve functions automatically, meaning it doesn’t require any external controls. It simply responds to changes in flow direction, making it a low-maintenance component.
• Application in Pool Systems: Typically used with Hayward CAT controllers, this check valve helps maintain water quality by keeping chemical dosing precise and stable.
