About The Product

The chassis kit with tie bar (360230) is a replacement part made by Pentair. The same high-quality materials were used to manufacture the original factory part. Making this a genuine OEM product. This chassis was designed to be the centerpiece for the Racer and Racer LS pressure cleaner making it very important to the cleaning process. This chassis is the center housing unit to which the majority of the parts for the cleaner are attached, meaning without it you basically would have a bunch of spare parts rattling around the inside of the cleaner. This part was also built to be lightweight preventing it from bogging down the cleaner to where it won’t float which would affect the maneuverability of the cleaner.

This chassis is black and has a round opening in which the vacuum tube rests which is the unit that gives the cleaner the power to suck and pull up dirt, debris, and other forms of mulch off the surface of your pool. From there this debris into the debris bag leaving a crystal-clear look in its path. Also, this part comes equipped with a tie bar that fuses the chassis so that way it and other surrounding parts aren’t knocked out of place in any way.

How To Remove and Replace

The first thing you will need to do is strip the cleaner down to get to the part. You will need a Phillips head screwdriver.  When you flip the cleaner upside down, there are three screws that need to be removed. Once those screws are removed you should be able to easily take the top off. This will now give you access to the main rear cover as well as the float. You should be able to easily remove the float as well. Now looking at the rear cover, there are two more screws that need to be removed. When pulling the cover off, make sure you are being gentle so you do not break anything. To replace the rear cover, you will first need to gently push and click the cover in. Once that is in you will screw it back on. Then put the float on and the top cover. Now you will finally screw it back in.

In this video, we show you how to remove and replace the Rear Cover designed for the Pentair Racer and Racer LS pressure-side pool cleaners. This Rear Cover was designed to give the cleaner a clean sleek look while not adding any type of impediment to the cleaner as it moves around the surface. Another cool feature about this part is the fact that it acts as a protective cover for the internal parts. It has a float built into its design which helps bring balance to the cleaner and allows it to lift off the ground which tries to climb the walls. We provide professional insight along with any useful tips or tricks that may help you during the installation/removal process of this part.
