Pentair Racer / Racer LS Front Axle - Quick Fix

Welcome back, ePoolSupply supporters! For today's blog, I will be going over how to remove and replace the Pentair Racer front axle. I will be going over about the product and I have also added a picture to show you exactly what you are looking for. At the bottom of the blog, I have added a YouTube video our pool professional has created to show you exactly what you need to do for this quick fix. The axle kit (360434) is a replacement part that was made by Pentair. Making this a genuine OEM product. This axle kit was built to help hold the large wheels in place on the pressure cleaner. This gives it the ability to move along the surfaces of your pool as it cleans dirt, mulch, and other various forms of debris.

This part sits on the front side of the cleaner where it rests on the chassis so that way no is no chance for movement which could disrupt the cleaning process. The part is black to match the color of the chassis and it is made from a strong plastic composite making it durable and long-lasting so you can get the most out of your pressure-side pool cleaner.

How To Remove and Replace 

Before you can start on this quick fix you will need to strip the cleaner down a little bit. You will need to remove the entire top cover and part of the rear cover as well. Once you have gotten to where you need to be, the only tool you will need is a Phillips head screwdriver. On top of the front axle you will see a screw on each side and these will need to be removed. The axle itself is clipped down into the frame. You will need to take each side of the axle and gently pull to release that part of the frame. The axle should slide up and you can pull the whole thing out. To replace the front axle, everything is directional. You need to make sure you are putting it on the right side. Once everything is lined up, you should be able to screw it back in. It is important you do not use a drill because you don't want to risk cracking the part and having to replace it again.
