Drive Features

The pump drive is designed to produce maximum motor operational efficiency. The drive controls the motor's rotational speed by controlling the frequency of the supplied current. It also protects the motor and pumps from operating outside of their intended operating parameters. It has simple smartphone control with seamless WiFi or Bluetooth® wireless technology control built into the pump. If you download Pentair home app, you can monitor the pump or change the flow rate from anywhere. It also features an RS-485 digital automation connection that defines the electrical interface and physical layer for point-to-point communication. Another feature it has is smart priming control which will detect loss of prime. Priming is what supplies the pump with enough water to put the water in circulation. If you buy this pump’s bigger brother, 011076, it comes with 2 relays you can also control from the pump like a Pentair IntelliBrite and/or a Pentair booster pump for pressure cleaners. 

The pump motor is designed to withstand an outdoor environment and it operates at lower temperatures due to high efficiency. It has a totally enclosed fan-cooled (TEFC) motor. A great feature of this pump is that it is low in noise. The weighted energy factor is 7.1 and the total horsepower of the motor is 3. This motor exceeds all of Department of Energy (DOE) and Energy Star requirements. 

 Connecting to an Automation System

All IntelliFlo3 VSF and IntelliPro3 VSF pumps are compatible with Pentair automation systems. All pump control is handled by the automation system. It uses 18 to 24 AWG and a two-conductor cable to connect a Pentair automation system to the pump. When the pump is connected, the connect led will pulse a magenta or pink color. If the touchscreen controller is installed, it will display a message indicating the pump is being controlled by an automation system. When putting the automation mode into service mode, the system will return control to the pump.
