A&A Style 1 Infloor Cleaning Pop Up Head - Overview
Hello there! We're back today with another wonderful blog overview. Periodically we like to inform our customers of the newest updates in the swimming pool industry. Whether it be a simple "who's who" or maybe even a recent update to equipment. This week we will be discussing the A&A Style 1 Infloor Pop Up Cleaning Heads. Let's dive in!
First we'd like to talk about how an Infloor System works. There are many different versions of in floor cleaning systems out there however, the principal operation for each manufacturer is roughly the same. As with any pool, the water is circulated through a system of suction lines, run through a filter, and returned back into the pool through various pool jets and water features. This is where the infloor system comes in. Once the water has been filtered, it is driven through an actuator which disperses the water at high pressure to a designated "zone" of three to five cleaning heads. These heads "pop up" from the pool floor and spray dirt & debris towards the main suction drain.
A&A Manufacturing Style 1 Infloor Cleaning Heads
Originally introduced in 1985, the A&A Style 1 revolutionized pool cleaning for years to come. When they were first released A&A used many names such as Jet Clean or Quick Clean on the Style 1 however, they are all the same pop-up head as long as they feature the two-prong removal design. The cleaning heads measure 2.5" across the top and 4" from the bottom spring to the top cap.
Each Style 1 Infloor Pop Up Head rotates through twelve positions ensuring 360-degree coverage. The high flow heads feature a 7/16" orifice to maximize cleaning power. The low flow heads feature a 1/4" orifice to ensure proper cleaning pressure. High Flow pop ups are meant for floor installation to ensure a bigger cleaning radius. Low Flow pop-ups are meant for steps & benches, the smaller output creates the perfect pressure for those hard-to-reach areas.
The cleaning heads are easily removed and installed with the A&A Style 1 Tool. We also carry brand new OEM Square O-Rings to guarantee a tight seal.
A&A still produces these parts today and offers them in 4 different colors: White, Tan, Gray, and Black.
If the cleaning head keeps dislodging itself from the floor fitting, try 1 wrap of electrical tape around the locking tabs on the pop up to help it grip the collar better.
